Sr. System Architect – Rail Transportation

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Architect to lead the modernization of legacy IBM Mainframe/TPF rail transportation systems into cloud-native Java/Spring Boot microservices using Event-Driven Architecture (EDA). The role will act as the technical bridge between Enterprise Architecture and engineering teams, designing microservices, APIs, and integration patterns while ensuring scalable, high-performance solutions. The architect will also lead Strangler migration strategies, guide development teams, and maintain architectural governance within a SAFe environment. Qualifications 15+ years of IT experience, with 10+ years in architecture roles Experience in rail transportation or large logistics systems Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka/Kinesis, and cloud-native architecture (AWS/Azure) Proven experience migrating IBM Mainframe/TPF to modern event-driven systems Experience with SAFe, TOGAF, BizBok, and DMBok frameworks Required Skills System & Enterprise Architecture Microservices & Event-Driven Architecture Java, Spring Boot Kafka / Kinesis API Design & Integration Patterns AWS / Azure IBM Mainframe / TPF Modernization SAFe, TOGAF, BizBok, DMBok Technical Leadership & Architecture Governance
