Job Description

• $100–$400 per hour • 100% remote • Part-time • Fully flexible schedule Evaluate computer science and computational physics research produced by AI models, on your own schedule. Labs building AI models need experienced scientists to tell them whether the research their models produce is actually right. In this work you take model attempts at hard problems, check them through proofs, code and reproducible simulations, and note what held up, what broke and where the models fall short. It is remote contractor work that fits around your current research. What you'll do • Set hard open problems, theoretical limits and simulation tasks for AI models to attempt • Lead research work that uses proofs, algorithms, numerical methods and high-performance computing • Verify model results by checking proofs, rerunning computations and applying formal methods • Compare results with the current literature and write short memos on partial progress and repeated model failures Why this is worth your time • Earn $100–$400 an hour assessing research produced by AI models in computer science and computational physics • Decide whether model results hold up through proof checks, reruns of computations and reproducible simulations • Apply your research judgment to show where AI models fail and which open problems they may help advance • Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute Who this is for • 7 to 10 or more years of active research experience in computer science or mathematical or computational physics • Strong scholarly contributions and recent publications in leading venues • Hands-on experience with simulation, numerical analysis, algorithmic implementation or high-performance computing • Deep research judgment, with the ability to assess technical work outside your own area of expertise • Fluent in English • Preferred: a record of resolving named open problems or introducing concepts that peers have adopted • Helpful background includes major field prizes, society fellowships, plenary or invited talks, best paper awards, program committees, editorial boards, Lean, Coq, SAT or SMT solvers, or public research involving advanced AI systems; prior AI training work is not required. Pay and details • $100–$400 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor • Part-time, flexible schedule; fully remote, United States How to apply 1.
